It's a fact! So many newcomers to information marketing just get plain confused or even give up because they get overwhelmed with information.
Don't you be one of them.
Perhaps these people subscribe to too many newsletters, attend too many seminars, or buy everything that's going in the belief that Internet riches will come their way.
Chances are it ain't going to happen.
Maybe I have a different outlook on things, but my theory is that to be successful in Information marketing you have to serve your "apprenticeship."
I'm not talking about three, four, or more years. I'm talking about getting familiar with all the basics before you even think about this way to drive traffic to your site or that way to beat the search engines, or blogging your way to a fortune.
Understanding the basics before you even think about anything else is the way to go and avoid being confused.
There are fundamentally four things that you need to master before you clog your mind (and your hard drive) with tools and gadgets.
Basic #1. Get familiar with how to create your product for a hungry market. It's no use having a fantastic product if there are not enough people who want it or cannot afford to buy it. You need to do enough research in this area to satisfy yourself that you have a good enough offer in a hungry market.
Basic #2. Understand completely how to write good, persuasive copy. Because if your copy is weak you will make few sales. You can have all the traffic in the world going to your site, but if they are not persuaded to buy it will all be for nought.
Basic #3. Find out how to, or employ someone to do it for you, put together a meaningful web presence. It's not that difficult. But an efficient system in place will save you a boatload of time. Get to know how to set up your sales process, construct auto-responders, and your business will begin to run on auto-pilot.
Basic #4. When all the above three basics have been taken care of, it's time to market your product. There is no need to buy any expensive programs, tools, etc. Just some ordinary proven methods for marketing will get you started.
Information overload can happen all too easily. Don't get bogged down with things that can't possibly work for you. Get to know the basics first. There's enough information right there. Resist the temptation to shoot off at a tangent.
When you build a house, you start with firm foundations. So it should be with any other type of business. Start with a strong base and build from there.
